Call for Late-Breaking Abstracts and Discussion Items for the 33rd Annual Scientific Meeting of ESMRMB, Vienna, September 29 - October 1, 2016
We are pleased to introduce two new presentation formats for our Annual Meeting: NEWS & VIEWS
While the regular scientific contributions, which were all submitted in April, have now been peer-reviewed and already cast into a great programme for our meeting, we are now offering two new possibilities to contribute to our meeting. These will both foster very lively debates and provide opportunities to present and to learn about the latest progress in MR research. 1) NEWS: Late-breaking results
We are offering a special section of our meeting space for traditional posters, to present your latest research. We are asking for abstracts describing your latest results by August 9, just a few weeks before our meeting. Given the limited timeframe, the contributions will be judged by the scientific programme committee and will not be peer-reviewed. This format will allow you to present and to learn about the most up-to-date research progress and we are convinced that this format will provide substantial added value to our meeting. Where else would you learn about the latest results from your peers within a couple of months of the respective findings?
HOW TO SUBMIT
Submission of late breaking abstracts have to be sent to the ESMRMB Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) by August 9 (24:00h CEST) and should be:
1-page abstract in PDF format; the following sections must be included: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion (all of them must be present and results must be properly documented)
Your submission will only be complete as soon as both (1-page abstract in PDF format and the completed application form) is available!
A streamlined review by the SPC will check for
Formal criteria (sections as listed above)
Obvious errors, novelty of findings, ethical issues, commercial bias
Resubmission of rejected abstractsis not allowed - unless clearly improved results are presented

2) VIEWS: Opinion and Discussion Section:
A further part of our meeting space will be devoted to a views and opinions section (paper posters), for which we also welcome your contributions. This category is intended to offer space for discussion of any topical issue. You may present your views on any disputed issue – just as you would in a ‘letter to the editor’ in a journal. This may involve propositions for changes in radiological practice (maybe you want to advocate the five minute MR exam or you strongly oppose this trend) or MR research (maybe you want to propose communal efforts to pin down safety issues, or have noticed a lack of interest in a specifically important, but seemingly unpopular area, or you want to propose research for certain rare diseases).
HOW TO SUBMIT
1-page abstract in PDF format (you must clearly substantiate what the content and message of your opinion poster will be)
Your submission will only be complete as soon as both (1-page
abstract in PDF format and the completed application form) is available!
A streamlined review by the SPC chair and vice chair will check for
Obvious errors, originality of content, ethical issues, commercial bias
Presentation format Contributions to both categories will be presented in the form of traditional posters. They will appear in the respective sections of the final programme and meeting guide (with authors, affiliations, and title as stated on the application form); however, they cannot be included in the book of abstracts.
